Which one do I buy?
vs SDS804X HD: the confusing one — the smaller-numbered 800X HD is the newer, 12-bit, better scope. Siglent published its own explainer because buyers kept getting it backwards.
Firmware unlock status
Community-unlockable. Long-known license unlock to 200 MHz + options; mature. The thread that tracks it → Unlocking may void your warranty; firmware updates can relock or brick. This site reports status, it doesn't endorse.
